Storytelling with colour

Illumination Film - Brief

Here is the brief for our Illumination film given to us by our tutor :

It must be a 10 minute DRAMA

there must be a script of 10 Pages handed, not emailed to me by week four.

You must use actors. You cannot star in your own film. Those actors must either be professional or from the Worc Uni drama course.

It cannot be filmed around campus, unless it is in a studio and then there has to be a reason why?

No walking to fill time.

NO MAGICAL REALITIES. I want real life.

No guns. No drugs. No gangsters. No violence against people. Although death can happen.

You have to use your own footage. Not footage taken from another source. Not footage filmed years ago. You have to use footage filmed as part of this project.

You have to write your own music but music can and should not drive the action.

No moral endings.

Your film has to be crewed, even if you are working alone.

All sound must be recorded by you or one of your team.

I want your film to be properly blocked out. That means I want you to programme in rehearsals. Have camera and lighting plans. Have a proper production schedule.

Your film must have storyboards and that storyboard must be completed by week Six.

I also want to see test shots.

No excuses.
